“As a tradeoff, I get significantly more cargo space, much easier ingress/egress, and my overall visibility while driving has improved by approximately 80%—in a sedan I can’t see past or through trucks and SUVs.”

“If owners of sedans can’t find one to replace their current one, they’ll end up with a crossover. Once they experience the additional space, ease of entry, etc., they will be hooked, and the trend will grow even stronger down the road.”

“You’re simply not smart. Chevy and Ford dont care about losing a $16k sale of a small car hen theyre selling suvs for $80k. and if gas prives go up, they both have crossovers that get 30mpg.”

Chevy must have broken enough ugly sticks to fill a stadium to come up with those.   Glad I’m not in the market.

“Push button start is stupid.”

Hackett is just full of shit. He screwed Ford by killing small cars in the US so they will no longer have cheap entry level vehicles to bring in shoppers. He can decontent their small shitty CUVs to drop the prices but then they will look “cheap” (as in crappy) compared to the competition.

Getting a car as a gift wouldn’t be a “disappointment”, but it would be very hard for someone to buy me a “dream car” for a given price point because I’m particular.

I’ve owned 4 wagons in the past (3 bought new), and just bought my 5th wagon (new). It came down to the GSW/Alltrack or the TourX, and ended up with an Alltrack w/ manual. While the two times a year that the additional room in the TourX would have been appreciated, the Alltrack being smaller, more nimble and more fun

Far, far better than the concept car in the article.

$8,200? What a deal - it’s less than the first repair bill for that car.

“I’d bet it will be either VW (who desperately need a way to rebrand their image after the dieselgate fiasco)“

It would be interesting to find out what the real profit margins are on cars  - not just from the initial sale, but profits from parts/labor, etc. over the lifetime of the car.

Ford stopped making the type of cars (Wagons!) that I buy new, so I bought my next new (Wagon!) car from a different manufacturer.

“When people think of a “Chevy” and that low-rent Cruze rental car they had that one time is the first thing that comes to mind, thats no good.”

“They should get Mark Walberg to pitch it.”

Like Cadillac Cimarron.

But unlike so many modern cars, the windows are large and easy to see out of........

When I don’t use my blinkers in a BMW,”

And I have a 6 speed MT turbo AWD wagon.

Does Disney play nice with anyone?
