I’m not sure I have ever seen one of these scenarios where the joke was worth fighting for.

I agree about the DmC story. I thought the overall design and mythology (there is the real world and the spirit world and they are on top of each other) was an improvement on the original aesthetic, which was like cyberpunk and steampunk just randomly thrown together.

I came across these memes a week ago, maybe longer, and its super weird and inexplicable.

yea yea sure sure. Whatever you say, chief.

He has it briefly when he catches the shield memorably

Whoa, that’s weird. I’ve never seen that before. According to justwatch.com, its only available to rent through Apple.

Except, they do eventually beat it by just creating slang.

I really love this movie, and I think it is a good twist on “found footage.” Not that the movie itself is found footage, but we are audience to people experiencing horror as “found footage,” in this case, on-scene reporters and witnesses calling into the show. The puts the crux of the fear on the people in the booth

I have a hard time lining this up with pop culture’s love with reality television mostly because reality TV is still on a voluntary basis. It’s the unwitting subjugation part that makes it dystopian and interesting. Maybe its more dystopian that some are convinced to volunteer for such a thing, though. I don’t know.

I feel like another (for a different reason) equivalent would be “The Joe Schmo Show” but even than he still volunteered to be on the show.

Does she get to experience that fame ever?

His origin is delivered through as short as it could have been security cam footage, and none of the co-worker bullying was necessary, either way. We only ever know him as the villain Mr. Freeze.

I didn’t mention them for a reason, but while they certainly aren’t perfect or even interesting casting, I don’t find them to be burden either. They are just stand-ins and neither of their roles is very significant outside of allowing more variety of action figures

His size seems pretty irrelevant in the suit and I don’t think I’d ever really describe Mr. Freeze as meek.

Right, a long lost daughter kidnapped by the never spoken about Tenth Realm, which is essentially an Abrahamic Heaven, IIRC

This Bat-movie series ran pretty concurrently with the classic Batman Animated Series.

Did not know Cagliostro was nixed in that fallout too.

That’s a bad joke. It sounds like its always expiring, right?

The one thing I will stand by is the casting is not as inherently atrocious as some have claimed. Under a different director, George Clooney as a rich playboy with a secret brooding alter ego, Uma Thurman as a vengeful femme fatale, and Arnold as a cold-blooded statuesque killer would totally work. Should have worked.
