Saw it at IFFBoston and I quite enjoyed it. I think there is more underlying psychology than this review lets on. There is definitely an attempt at a final rebellion before true adulthood sets in, to become a DB Cooper-esque trivia answer, to just do something dangerous and by extension cool, to give their promising

After season 2 of Dirk Gently had a trip to a fantasy world that was half gritty, half ironically cheery, I thought it was time to revisit this take of Mario but way more superficially like the games.

I think they lampshaded it at one point. Did James not breeze through all the things he likes about her to Hitch that went beyond her looks? Generally, that’s nothing, but for the genre its par for the course.

But it also features the greatest scene ever in a romantic comedy, where Hitch goes for a big sweeping romantic gesture by bringing Sara to Ellis Island to show her her ancestor’s name on record when he immigrated to the States only for her to get real pissed because he was serial killer who brought shame on her

That would require taking Cross’ experience with more weight than hers. That’s gonna vary person to person.

David Cross seems like he’s doing fine. He had a new comedy special. New comedy tour. Another season of Arrested Development. His marriage and family are intact. He was in a Spielberg movie. He’s the main dude’s fake voice in Sorry to Bother You.

He mocked her race to her face. She has right to feel bad about it regardless.

The first part doesn’t seem literal. It sounds like a chop-busting she slipped into this answer. Which doesn’t make it not weird though

Yes, its weird Boyle’s family wasn’t there, but neither were either of their parents. That’s just classic sitcom lampshading (not really, I can’t think of another word). They had the same problem on Parks and Rec when Lawless’ character only existed in passing mentions. New Girl had a good one when it came to June

They returned to the timeline after they had left. Some time had passed since Talbot was locked up for so long. They had already been abducted from the diner. Fitz had already frozen himself. And yea Enoch is probably somewhere because IIRC he just waited to unfreeze Fitz in the future. The timeline only changed

I don’t know why you think its weird that Futurama was more thought out. That’s sort of Futurama’s schtick. To really “think it out.”

Trying to make sense of time travel is a losing battle. Because it doesn’t make sense. Literally.

ERW is basically a Terminator now with some Jim Jones culty dialog.

Man, I am glad Teddy wasn’t the bomber. I pretty much expected him to be when he showed up. That is a bridge to far in the creepiness.

She was Robin. She was the only one whose trauma didn’t harden her, and through their work, she got almost completely better. She was the symbol of innocence they were fighting for. Which is more of an excuse than a defense.

How so? That’s the exact credit they got. He and Chris have the screenwriting credit. Goyer has the story by credit.

I think you are giving Goyer too much authorship over this movie. Pretty sure he was just a comic wikia for the Nolan brothers to work from.

i want to see Mark-Paul Gosselar get a legit role.

They are still using Nielsen numbers. They don’t even understand broadcast. I doubt they’ll ever understand streaming.

Well the repulsiveness of the spider is not unimportant. The fear of opening yourself to intimacy is the fear of having your true self be treated like a giant fucking spider. Fear and disgust.
