That’s pretty common, actually!

Wait, who cares about the window?

Jealousy is a pointless endeavor friend. Drive free or die.

reuniting the dreaded MSN front-line

This issue, and how Deadspin is covering it, continues to frustrate me. Like many here, I agree that the way those social media posts slam the situation is absurd, especially since there is no way Owens knows anything about of those other female athletes, but at the same time the article here, as an example, relies on

57 seconds in the 400 High Hurdles?

The IAAF has rules that handles the case of Caster Semenya, but Deadspin and several of its commentors have been railing against that since that decision was made. So what is it? Is it the governing bodies rules, and too bad for those who oppose it, and those that appeal it are bigoted dicks, or is this more nuanced

When she was 43 years old (which is when she started competing as Renee Richards)?

That’s not a useful case-study. Age gets everyone and brings them low in terms of competitive athletics.

I don’t think there is solid or settled sceince that 12 months of hormone therapy makes this competition fair. This is what is being used but we can look at the data of male and female performance and clearly see that she is performing at a vastly higher level as a female, than she was as a male.

We should all respect Telfer’s right to be whom she wants to be and live how she wants to live.

I’m all for sticking it to hypocritical conservatives, and I’m all for leaving people the hell alone and letting them be whomever they feel they are. However, this relatively new dynamic of trans-women competing in women’s sports is pretty much the greyest of grey areas.

I just can’t agree with this part:

The Raptors shot 50 percent from the floor and 39 percent from three, which is a whopping three percent better than their respective regular season averages. Settle down.

they tried to track where the lsd came from, but they ended up tracking gentrification instead.

Where there are well-off white people, there are complaints about rats.

The argument of “only rich people care about their general health, surroundings, and hate vermin!” seems to be inherently flawed.

Using a little algebra we can determine that this statement has also left us with the argument that “poor people don’t mind rats.” As a one time broke person, I would like to inform you that that is not, in fact, the case.

There once was an idiot from Limerick,

My uncle played college hoops with Beilein at Wheeling Jesuit and is friends with him to this day. He always says how good a guy Beilein is, that Beilein has serious suspicions about other coaches and their recruiting tactics, and that, deep-down, he is a basketball junkie who loves the sport.

There’s something different about him compared to most sprinters. He seems...scrappier? Like he really works hard to be as good as he is and doesn’t just coast on his talent.
