I'm surprised to hear that it was inappropriate to laugh. To look disgusted, or leave—sure. But they were vamping it up in campy attire, so it's hard for me to see it as not being intended tongue in cheek.

It had many strong moments, but (along with the problematic Tyra storyline) I can't give it an A when, once again, the football itself is so WTF:
—Despite the immense importance of defense to any football team, the Panthers D is not shown on the field once in this game (similar to how little they are shown throughout…
"Jeff Probst, this is a nonsense phrase and you know it’s a nonsense phrase."
I think it's weird how many rewards don't involve sponsors or any brand names these days. Just "Survivor pizza party" or "Survivor taco bar". Also kind of sad that they have apparently cut their budget, so they never go to spas or on cruises any more for rewards.
I think he has a lot of potential, too. But I didn't quite get it: why did Josh say he let people see too much of himself?
Do you still think this now after we now know that half the actresses in Hollywood posed for them? It seems like it's just part of modern culture.
Don needed to be there to make sure Sloan didn't get a beatdown from the guy after she got in her sneak attack.
What do you have to be annoyed about? You're in the majority on this site.
And I'm not a "fanboy", assuming that means I automatically love all things Sorkin. I turned off The Social Network after thirty minutes because I was so bored. (And I liked The West Wing just as much after he left it as before.)
Yeah, I was shocked. I watched the previous episode and this one in a row without a break, and thought they were the best two of the series. Checked the review for the previous one, saw another C, and sighed. So then I was very pleasantly surprised to see that A- here.
I'm with you. I'm catching up on Blu-ray, and it's a constant irritant to read recaps and see all the disdain (but I can't help but continue). Over at IMDB, I notice with tens of thousands of votes, it's one of the highest rated titles I've ever seen at that site. So I'm not sure how that all shakes down.
"This is actually all pretty darn good, particularly the scene where Hallie lays into Jim, but it all ends up reversed when Hallie comes out to the pool to talk with him and thank him for what he did, then ends up kissing him."
I completely loved that scene. At this point (I am a cord cutter and HBO hasn't released…
Well, and how about "Duluth"? I kept rolling my eyes at their showing this huge city that looks nothing like Duluth (pop. 86,000), and finally figured out it was Calgary (pop. 1.1 million).
Speaking of Chazz Nygaard's wife, she is a very sexy vacuumer.
That scene was brilliant, hilarious, very Coenesque.
"Set" in Duluth in the loosest possible way. At least in the pilot, they used an establishing shot of the iconic Lift Bridge. But in this episode, the shot of the skyline looked NOTHING like Duluth. Totally ridiculous. http://www.ronsaari.com/sto…
Also, neighbors in Minnesota bring each other "hot dish", not…
I didn't like it, and I really, *really* love several of the Coens' other movies.
I always felt Lisa got a bum deal from fans. I found her sympathetic from the beginning, but I also don't blame Nate for not feeling the same toward her that she did toward him. That's life, it happens.
As I noted elsewhere in the thread, I never signed on to the Nate hate train. I was totally in his corner right to…
Nate was totally cool by me right to the end of the series. An unpopular opinion, but I think it's actually the interpretation Ball intended.
How have you known in the past when new ones were posted? Just kept checking the site, or is there a notification system?
I *just* discovered that there has been a sort of SFU rewatch going on here, and though I've already rewatched the whole series a couple times, I was totally down with jumping in midstream to follow along with these. But now it seems like it's been an awfully long hiatus. Please come back! And assuming they are…
