See, now this is one of the ways I feel like I watched the show differently from many viewers, though I think there's evidence my view was closer to what the writers intended. I always liked Nate, from the beginning to the very end.

I agree with you, except that I want to pipe up to note that it wasn't necessary (at least not for me) to watch it after the fact to feel this way. I watched all those shows when they came out (back when I used to actually have HBO), and liked SFU the best of them all.
Me too. I think it's the best of all the HBO dramas from that or any period. And I thought it got better as it went along, which seemed to be the opposite from the way other fans experienced it, frustratingly.
Yes, and on the last episode of Six Feet Under she wrote ("The Rainbow of Her Reasons"), the feminist sex writer Susie Bright appears as herself.
This might be the first time I've ever said this (usually I'm the anti-spoiler stickler in any dispute), but that's taking the definition of "spoiler" too far IMO. If they gave any specific reasons why they liked the next one so much, I'd agree with you, but c'mon.
You don't think of the show overall as a comedy? I do—or at least a "dramedy".
I wonder how many viewers noticed that single female rabbis as potential love interests are a recurring motif for Soloway. Molly Parker played just such a character on Six Feet Under, where Nate was smitten by her. Parker's character appeared in two episodes, but the first one, "Back to the Garden" (where the…
I think a person could do a lot worse than Josh. I like him, don't consider him an asshole.
I really liked it too!
No way. The mayor run was a mistake; I like the school and don't understand the hate.
At least Drew's GF made an appearance.
She has to let him visit more than that. It's sick to even contemplate not letting him hold and play with his child, given that he's not an ax murderer or pedophile.
I strongly dislike the societal expectation that young/low income women are supposed to have abortions or (depending on your politics) give their babies up to be adopted by older, wealthier women.
I wasn't sure in his intro ep, but I like him now. I was disappointed in Julia for trying to hide him, so really glad by her reversal at the end.
Yeah, if she was creeped out by his interest and didn't want to encourage him, there's no way she would have upped it even a half point. She's flattered and despite thinking he's weird, also thinks he's sweet and interesting.
I really do think this was the best approach for Max: lay his cards on the table in a…
"Big".
I think he'll be back though after thinking it over a while.
I think he'll be back, although it was lame of him to mumble about how he forgot that he has a bunch of stuff to do tomorrow or whatever.
You're wrong with this "garbage in, garbage out" talk—again, unless you are actually hideously deformed, but that's rare and I kinda doubt it.
Are you aiming more realistically than you did in high school, when you went straight for the prettiest girl? And are you putting effort into your own appearance? I mean, if you are just Elephant Man or something, then that's just a shame and not much you can do. But the vast majority of people who think of…
