960x640 is not higher than any HDTV. It has more PIxels per inch than TVs though. Except maybe monitors. It's all relative to distance and screen size.

I can play 1080P fine on my iPad 2 currently without any stutter. Download real racing HD. 1080p output via HDMI cable or 720p AirPlay. I love iOS. So clean and efficient.
