I haven’t tried Splittable, but Splitwise does similar things and has been wonderful. Saves me the trouble of putting together an excel spreadsheet. I use it for everyday bills as well as nights out. Even used it on vacation with friends to keep track of who spent what, then settled-up at the very end.

Oh, let them have their fun. I care not about The Piggers, either, but making an unsolicited comment about how much you don’t like it is as annoying as those who want to remind people they don’t have a TV, are vegan, do crossfit, vape, and/or own a Prius.
