Yes, that is what i was getting at exactly. The managers i have worked with just seem to think they know every aspect of the job their employees are doing and for sure sometimes they do. Other times, they have little to no experience on the tasks the people theyre managing are doing yet assume they know better.

Maybe its just been my personal experience, but it seems like there is a high correlation between managers and extremely fragile egos.
