In my opinion, the PS4 is the better machine. Xbox has been known to have lots of errors. The fact that you can upgrade the PS4 hard drive with a normal laptop internal hard drive without voiding the warranty is an awesome function.

As a father of a seven month old, my two PS4s are still being used for gaming. I have plenty of time to spend time with my kid and play video games. I work a full time job and still have time to play after my kid goes to bed. I think it all depends on how fussy your kid is.
