Most people here are utter morons when it comes to subjects like this so it’s not surprising to see so much crying about a billionaire’s net worth going up when the stock they own an absolute ton of goes up.

$181B is not his compensation but thanks for playing

Bezos doesn’t make $10-20 billion a year, his net worth goes up substantially each year because he has lots of Amazon stock, which also continues to go up. His compensation for 2019 was $1.6M.

Yeah it doesn’t upset me because I didn’t create a company like Amazon and Jeff Bezos is a huge owner of an incredibly successful business. Not only could I not do that, I wouldn’t want to put in the amount of work he has put in. Also, just because Bezos and other CEOs make a lot of money doesn’t mean I cannot also

Anytime my fried eggs get annoying to cook it’s time for a new pan. I just keep replacing it with the small, cheap one at my local grocery store and it works great for a surprisingly long period of time and is so much better than trying to cook eggs on a pan that stick.

They don’t tax it if used for medical expenses though (if they do that would be information I haven’t seen anywhere). Save up your receipts over the years and you should be able to get a lot out tax free. If you withdrawal in retirement as normal income it’s like a Roth IRA.

Not saying you won’t have issues with your specialty pharmacy and an HSA but with an HSA you don’t lose any of your money. You can switch jobs, switch insurance types, whatever, and your money stays in your account. You can reimburse yourself for any out of pocket health expense after the date your HSA was opened.

Yep, I just pretend that money doesn’t exist and it has grown rather nicely. It helps that I am younger (not “young” anymore) and healthy so my out of pocket expenses have only been a few hundred this year. If you have lots of health expenses it might not be the best plan if you have a non-high deductible plan but if

I’m not sure what straw man you built up to argue against there but have fun with that

HSAs are the greatest savings vehicle that exists if you can afford to fund it and not use it. Save all the receipts for medical expenses and you can cash them out if you ever get in a bind and need some money tax free.

Probably because most of the readership of these sites abandoned it long ago when things went drastically downhill.

Well the answer would be to have put money in the market when it did fall but that boat has sailed for now, though there are still some pretty cheap stocks. Also, the 34% number was annualized when you look at quarter over quarter change it wasn’t quite so drastic. However, the media likes to play up the annualized

Yeah I mean context does kind of matter. If this is a similar thing that we see in other respiratory illnesses that resolves itself naturally then it’s not really much of a concern is it? Also, it’s clear that the science is far from settled on this so more research is needed, just as those who conducted the study

One thing I’ve been wanting to try is to put cheese in the hole, put the avocado back together, wrap in ground beef, then wrap in bacon and grill. I am pretty sure it lowers your life expectancy but old age is overrated.

Yeah I mean, that’s the whole point really. One reason I’d never volunteer for one of these. I am very low risk in that I am home most of the time and have a very small circle of people I see, all of which are pretty darn safe.

So you’re participating in one of these?

There’s a big difference between a 17 year old and a 6 year old though and it seems like the younger kids don’t have as much trouble with it. Times where a case is bad is an anomaly. I’m not saying that means we should open up the doors and have school as normal but it’s something to take into consideration. The

I have moved past cooking burnout and into the acceptance phase. I don’t care how lazy my meals are now as long as I get proper nutrition I’m fine. Now that grocery stores aren’t insane the stress of not having ingredients is gone, I still only go once every two weeks, along with a two week delivery of produce, but

Sadly, the same people who will tell you that the flu kills X number of people and we don’t wear masks every flu season are the same people that won’t even bother to get their flu shot. Pro tip, if you get you shot at the CVS in Target you get a free $5 gift card to Target. I think if you get it at any CVS you get $5
