How are Google and the like “sucking up the ad revenue?” That’s like Packard accusing GM of sucking up all the car revenue, or Sony accusing VHS because it was sucking up all the home video revenue.

How do FB and GOOG suck up the ad dollars? I would imagine Google and the like actually drive revenue for media companies due to sending traffic to media sites when people search for a story.

I wasn’t comparing them. The only similarity I highlighted was illustrating the fact that they were both totally overrated fighters who were viewed as unbeatable bruisers at one time.

Our police and fire departments are decent. Our roads suck. Our schools suck. Our libraries suck. Our museums are good, but most of the really good ones are private or a public/private partnership. Most utilities are private.
