The term I've heard is a "raft" of sea otters. A bunch of brownish animals floating on the ocean? Kinda makes sense.

Shut up, Oprah ;-)

I work in western retail and some of this stuff is still available! Every time my Wrangler Sales Rep tries to get me to buy a line of Brushpopper shirts (that's what they call those shirts that line-dancers and fans of Garth Brooks wore) we have a little giggle and move on. I also remember, in the 90's and even

My god. George Jones' hair face and jacket are all the same colour. It's like he was carved from a single Pottery Barn wall sconce.

oh lord they have like a bazillion awards shows. JUST GO WITH IT

Dear LeAnne: In about 15 years or so, you are going to be offered a cheesy role, in a shitty Lifetime movie with a cute guy named Eddie. Do NOT accept. Also, there will be a thing called "Twitter". Avoid that as well.

Country music needs to bring back the Nudie Suit ASAP.

What is frustrating to me about this whole debacle is that, once again, a woman's issue is being reframed as a talk about men. Just paragraphs and paragraphs about men and who is harassing and their race and just every possible permutation of that and racism against men of color and white male privilege etc, etc.

"cuz I wanted to have a kiss..." Well fuck. I want chocolate macarons to fall from the sky into my hands, but I know better than to ask for them.

I'd love to see them show what it's like for a fat woman. The level of hatred and violence directed at me would astonish.

I'd also be very interested in the experiences of butch and androgynous women as well. A friend of mine is a fairly androgynous lesbian and she explains it to me that she is met with just a ton of open hostility. Men eyeing her hard, spitting on the ground, whispering dyke, stuff like that.

To add to your point, I'm afraid of all men in certain situations. When its dark and a man is walking behind me I don't care about his color, wealth, or social status, he has the potential to hurt me in a very real way. Multiply this feeling times however many of them there are.

I'm 5'1 and people think it's awesome to rest on my head like I'm a gawt-damb table. And the fact that I have an afro? Lord give me the strength to not kill these people. Smaller ladies do get people who will just neglect a person's autonomy.

Its interesting that some people are bringing up the concept of size. I think they meant it in a sense of weight, but I think it can deal with height too. I'm extremely short (barely 4'11'') and guys always comment on how I'm "so cute" and oftentimes at bars, drunk guys think it's okay to pick me up. No thanks, please

They also need to do these in different cities, I saw a lot of comments on the Gawker article implying that this is just an NYC thing, and it's definitely not. I used to get catcalled by dudes from their cars walking home from high school in the suburbs.

Speaking as a 28 year old woman who has walked down many a busy street, I can tell you that what she experienced was sadly not even remotely shocking to me.

And the guy who created his burner solely for the trolling of every post about this street harassment discussion for the past few weeks is right on top of it. Gotta applaud his steadfastness.
