This is why I shop online now. I get too many looks when I’m in a store.

I made the mistake of buying a white drapey tee from their online sale once. I put it on and went, “Whelp, might as well be naked, ‘cuz there’s my belly button and bra completely displayed.” It’s a nightshirt now.

finally, a J. Crew for poors.

I doubt she has direct knowledge of every hire. I get your point and don’t entirely disagree with it, but it is true that on average, women who negotiate and ask for raises are denied more often and perceived as greedy, bossy, demanding, bitchy, selfish, not team players etc., while men who do the same are perceived

you do realize that the people who subscribe to and frequent those places don’t JUST post there, right? that in the comments (and the content) of almost every default subreddit, one finds exactly the same kind of prejudice and smarmy privileged masturbatory wailing, and though it may be less extreme, it is

Scotsworth, so long as coontown exists I hope you’ll excuse us our disdain. Reddit embraces racism and misogyny by choice. Spare us the numbers.

Homosexual slurs would be my guess, knowing some of the people over there.

I’m not sure about you, but as a woman, I am penalized for negotiating. That’s critical nuance you seem to be ignoring.

I agree it may bring salaries down, but it’s NOT just that women don’t negotiate as well or confidently- it’s that when they negotiate they are either denied or have the offer rescinded- so it’s a problem that will not be solved by training women to be better negotiators.

lol have you even been on reddit? I mean, yes, obviously you have. My distilled description of the kinds of people who gave a shit about subs known far and wide for harassing people being shut down was actually pretty generous and kind compared to the reality.

And TwoX has turned into a cesspool of trolls and idiots

It wasn’t sexist, reddit was really revolting about ethics in salary negotiations.

I hate that she’s been driven off.

The fact that the management knows how toxic Reddit is makes their refusal to do anything about it all the worse.

Now let’s see how reddit reacts to having a man make unpopular decisions. How on earth are they going to critique his policies without making derogatory comments about his gender?

Who cares, while some subreddits are pretty awesome, reddit as a whole sucks

Too bad, I was really enjoying my coffee mugs full of redpiller, neckbeard Reddit tears. I do appreciate Altman addressing the sexist (and worse) remarks towards and about Pao, but knowing Reddit, it’ll stay the same it always has been.

To this day I just have to think about the moment that goal went into the back of the net and I start crying. Every time. It was really impactful in the same way you described. It felt really awesome at the time for the short term gratification of winning in such an exciting way, but that really did give me an

I was 13 in ‘99, too (and was at the game actually), and I feel like it was a magical age to witness the WWC victory. At the time I was like, “THIS IS AWESOME,” but in retrospect I can see how seeing this giant, amazing display of lady power at exactly the right time had a giant impact on my believing anything could

So yeah, how many ticker tape parades have you been in, Andy Benoit?

Seeing all the young girls front and center to watch gives me all.the.feels. I just love it.
