Oh what a cute hat.

It’s over 800km from there to the conflict regions in the East - I certainly wouldn’t worry about it.

And from the pedant's corner, this is technically a sailplane. Most modern engine-free planes are sailplanes, which by definition can go down AND up (on thermals, ridges, and waves). "Glider" is mostly an outdated term for a behemoth that can only go down, like some of the ones used in WWII for stealth troop delivery,

Sailplanes! They’re Sailplanes!

I’ve ridden in a glider. Once you release from the tow plane and glide, it’s got to be one of the most eerie feelings in the world—the wind just whispers over the fuselage as you sail thru the sky.

Enjoying the view? That looks terrifying, all of them!

Extremely calming. And landing those things is stupid easy. Very hard to mess it up with a really healthy glide ratio and an absurdly slow landing speed. Go into a strong headwind and you can actually hover.

last time i saw a video of a glider, was in 50 shades of grey, this is much better, but an ellie goulding soundtrack would make this way better.

Yes, very calming to be up there with no power and no second chance at landing.

Gliding is the only type of flying I truly enjoyed. It is just so calming to be up there by yourself with nothing but the air rushing past the canopy. No complications to worry about and the instruments are basically barely used. You just literally fly by feel alone once you get good at it and enjoy the experience.
