I hope she and all the other women in that garbage cult are able to get out safely.

The show came out when I was in middle/high school. At the time I loved Carrie’s outfits (including the one above) and figured I’d dress like that at some point in my life. Nope, not going to happen, and hopefully neither will another movie. Nothing about that show aged well.
I signed my daughter up for a singalong group and I met a mom I really liked. We became Facebook friends and literally the first thing she did was hit me up to buy BeautyCounyer products and send me a video on why i should sell it. I switched to the earlier singalong group because it made me so uncomfortable.
I’ve been calling their leggings “give-up pants,” myself.
Women who desperately are trying to not have to work outside the home but whose husbands don’t earn enough for them to do so are the principal group of MLM sellers. They hit up their neighbors and (especially) their church congregations, and a lot of people buy out of a sense of guilt.
That’s part of their trap by design. When you buy stock, you don’t get to pick the pattern. There’s a mix of mostly garbage and some stuff people people actually want, so if you want to get more of the stuff that sells you have to buy more boxes of random inventory. I think you’re only allowed to purchase items by…
The people who own LipSense are hard-core Trumpies. Just so’s ya know.
The big ones with people I know are Rodan + Fields and Lipsense. Rodan + Fields lets you buy right from the website too, which is weird for a pyramid scheme. (Someone I know has had amazing results with the last growth serum, so I was looking it up...).
I live in the suburbs and all this shit is everywhere. Its almost inescapable.
I wish someone would write an article about the new wave MLMs that target mom. Every mom I know now sells something (LulaRoe, Scentsy, Norwex, Pampered Chef), the shit just goes on and on.
I don’t really care if it’s technically a pyramid or not, the idea of making women keep $20K of product in their homes so they can peer pressure other people into buying it, is criminal in and of itself. Most people aren’t that good at selling and at some point you’re going to bleed your tap dry of people to sell to,…
Since overnight shipping is a thing that exists any company that forces you to keep a considerable inventory of items that lose value as quickly as clothing is obviously ripping you off.
It’s an obvious pyramid scheme. If it were legit you could buy it straight up online or in stores, but you can’t. You have to buy it from a consultant, and you can only pick from whatever they happen to receive in their buy-in package.
Plus the clothes are criminally hideous.
Congratulations! I ran and finished my first NYC Marathon also. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I ran Chicago 4 years ago and it was hard but nothing like yesterday. The shit was brutal. What felt like an hour march to get the ponchos I was just like never again. Never again.
Is there a Mrs. Boucher, and was Rand banging her? That seems like a cuckolded spouse level of assault.
Am I the only one that feels like there’s something else going on? You don’t just go onto your neighbor’s lawn and beat the shit out of them because you don’t agree with their politics.
I doubt politics was the reason he attacked him. I think a lot of people have neighbor disputes over dickish things their neighbors have done.
I often consider breaking the ribs of people I disagree with, but usually I just go back inside and open another beer.
Broke her back.
