Wow, thank you for writing this! Those excerpts are pretty tough to get through. I would really like to think that the stories those guys are telling are just an ugly, misogynistic fantasy, and that no actual people were assaulted or harassed. But who knows? Stuff like that really does happen, and it’s a frighteningly

Sexual assault satire, like rape jokes, are not funny.

Do not fuck with Ellen Barkin. She may not work out but she will go totally chimp-strength rage on you.

When Martin Shkreli isn’t your worst boyfriend.....yikes. Shit’s rough out there, girls.

We need you more than ever, hero ex employee!

So report it to the police, but know that they have limited resources and may not be able to help you. Okay got it!

Are you kidding?

I don’t know where to put this. I was at a public event recently and the owner of Comedy Works, a well respected chain of comedy clubs based in Denver, said she believes women are usually lying about sexual harassment and gender discrimination. She said any time a female comic at her club (and big names go to Comedy

Nope. I’m a lawyer. Contingency only happens when there is a deep pocket defendant. That’s why lawyers do contingency for malpractice and personal injury. The defendant’s insurer pays out in that instance and insurance companies have super deep pockets. The comedienne who made the statements about him likely does not

...in large parts of the world if you look at outcomes the police actually have decent track records AFTER a report is made. Hell in most of the western world a report all on it’s own has a significant impact and can do a great deal to protect people going forward.

I think about Colleen Crawly a lot. She went to the cops. Johnny Manzel still just hanging around.

I think this is an important lesson in allyship and how being an ally means taking on risks. Publicly outing a rapist based on anonymous claims can be the right thing to do. It can be justice in action. However, it is not without repercussions. The outer should be prepared to take on the burden of those consequences.

You can’t be sued for saying you believe a victim over an accused rapist. In New York at least, statements are defamatory if they are (a) a false statement of fact, or (b) a false opinion presented as fact without citation or discussion of the alleged factual support. Pure opinions or hyperbolic/fiery rhetoric are

The biggest problem in stopping sex crime isn’t investigating it, it isn’t prosecuting it, it’s people simply not reporting it to the police.

I do not buy this guy Glaser’s “explanation” that he was suing this young woman for $38 million just to do discovery. In some cases, discovery can be an incredibly helpful process — for example, in medical malpractice it can be used to uncover serious and devastating flaws in hospital or physician processes or

“Losing friends, his girlfriend, roommates and home, performance career, and causing obvious mental anguish.” Aw, poor little baby rapist wants to ruin lives, but when his life is ruined he wants to sue for $38 million. Thank you for exposing him Jasmine Pierce.

I am hoping the women who have shared their horror stories on a national platform about well known men will embolden others to step out from an anonymous position and not be afraid to go on record. It is a terrible burden either way—suffer in silence or suffer the slings and arrows if you do have the courage to speak

If Glaser has Kurt Metzger on his side, well, that’s good information about the high level of douchebaggery going on here.

Now playing

“You’re not in the gay community, you’re in the creep community! Go celebrate creep pride and throw a little creep parade.”
