This is why I think it would be a great idea to allow taxpayers to dedicate a percentage of their taxes to the institutions of their choice. Imagine how neat that would be.
Deadpool actually seems more like a keytar to me.
I agree with you 100% that blacks and homosexuals have experienced a lot of discrimination in this country, especially legally-sponsored discrimination, but that still doesn't support your point that white people as individuals either 1) never or 2 ) "hardly ever" experienced discrimination. It especially doesn't give…
Show me these little white kingdoms in the USA where white people never leave the confines of their little white social structures and risk experiencing discrimination from non-whites at any point in their life. Nothing you are saying supports your first claim that whites never experience discrimination, nor your…
I think you have a good point there. There is a subjective element to sentience. I suppose I was thinking sentience in terms of whatever mechanical processes allow earth-bound life to experience it, and replicating it to that depth in a computer.
Well, modern research indicates the possibility that brains operate at the quantum level. If that's true, we'd need some beastly ass computers. We currently need supercomputers to model even molecular interactions.
Considering we still don't fully understand what sentience actually is, I'm voting for the Mars colony. But maybe we'll figure this whole consciousness thing out before then.
My original post wasn't concerned about the relative amounts of discrimination per race. You yourself admit that even though it may be less than other races, due to the historical majority status in our corner of the world, white people are still subjected to discrimination.
Do you think white people are never discriminated against by people of other races?
Maybe it depends on the locale and general age range of the attendants... I think the acceptance-of-people-not-like-you rate increases with maturity.
That's a good point. I like the age spread and diversity at the anime convention I go to. It's a wonderful thing.
Well that's just a shame. Is Magfest like that?
I don't know much about gaming conventions.. but I can assure you the yearly anime convention in my city is totally friendly to every sexual orientation you can think of.
Yeap. Much better imo because then you have the funding to hire developers and artists as you please, and if you are smart about it, you can divvy out the work for various parts of the game without having to worry too much about theft.
Or we could further simplify things by just scrapping the lifestyle choice tax break bullshit altogether.
I think the real issue is how gullible investors are when it comes to technology companies, particularly software.
I'd be interested in seeing some hard numbers on the impact of this.
