One could argue that they are always just a little bit more understated than they should be when compared against the average design language for whatever category they’re currently competing in, barring the current Gran Turismo. That car is just pure obnoxious flash and I love it.
I dig the subtlety. Maseratis have never really been that flashy. Little more than style than average but always handsome for the era and often timeless after.
Growing up, people always told me to “take whatever you enjoy, make it your career and you won’t work a day in your life.” Well... Fuck those people.
Design is second to aerodynamics/fuel economy. Also, “who cares? it’ll sell anyway”
And then you got the guys that’ll talk shit about the guys on big, comfy touring bike bragging about racking up miles because they’re the ones that are racking up miles on something that’s not designed to be toured like that.
That, I fully agree with.
Yeah, I prefer the Niro as well. It’s just a car. They don’t plaster it with hybrid shit all over and they drive fine.
It’s not remotely new anymore but it is definitely of the era where that started being a thing. I guess it could be called a vestigial feature, even if it is useful
It’s funny, I assumed the temp gauge in my Ford wasn’t actually even remotely accurate... that is, until I got in really bad traffic one day and saw it just walking up the range as my cooling fan wouldn’t kick in to high-speed (only happened that one time, so I haven’t even been able to figure out what actually went…
That’s what Honda has done with decent success for several years. They have a handful of bikes based on the same platform with the CB300/500 bones and they’re using the hell out of those engines, too. It’s not unusual at all. Hell, Harley themselves have a pile of different models based on each of their current platfor…
These things still had the trunk at the rear like a standard Fiero but they got an extended nose and carpeting where the spare tire would normally go up front. You could drop a soft duffel bag or briefcase up there.
I’ve seen worse.
Parsch?
Hey now, this example is fairly true. More design doesn't mean "better design"
Oh... Fuck.
Yeah, you have to be really close on it to notice but I dig the subtlety. It works well.
Are you crazy, that’s 50% of the price of another jeep
You’re an outlier. Most people don’t care about that shit. They just want tech and nice interiors. Car guys know what they want before they ever walk in.
