I would agree that the character of Shiv was retooled after the pilot, but I also feel the writers did the work to establish why the Shiv they settled on felt the need to marry a Tom. And it was brilliantly summed up with Logan’s line about “You’re marrying a man fathoms beneath you because you don’t want to risk

Shiv and Tom are tragic because he did love her for her, despite how fucked up she can behave. Tom has become just as desperate as the kids for Logan’s approval. It is sad, the moment Tom married into that family any chances for Shiv and Tom were over. He belongs to Logan now.

Can Sarak Snook get any damn hotter?

I think Nan’s an interesting foil to Logan. She offers the nurture he doesn’t, but she has created an equally toxic codependent relationship with her heirs. Different types of emotional manipulation with the same result, a bunch of children who struggle with being competent adults and have to keep crawling back to

I rarely side with automakers or dealers, but damn these owners suck and just need to deal with it. This is literally how every consumer product works. Unless there was a contract or documentation stating these would never be made again... too fucking bad? This is what you get for overpaying for stupid vehicles.

Another argument to have more paint color options.

The GM Atlas DOHC I-6 was wasted in the GM T360 and should have been used in an RWD car. Instead it died with the platform in 2012.

You may see that the car “randomly shuts off,” but I see that Buick inadvertently created the first stop-start system to save fuel and reduce emissions.

Hitting-and-running from a vehicular homicide is not “letting traffic violations go”, but you probably get that trollup.

Boomer generation has left the world worse off than the one they were born into. I don’t see that as controversial or debatable.

While I’m on the fence about this, I personally think that the average age of a politician and the age of just about everyone currently in power around the world begs to differ with this statement.

yep... really GOOD used cars were like 10 grand. I am talking fully loaded midsized sedans or econo cars.. Hell my first used car was less than 5k and only had 20k miles on it (97 Saturn SL2)

A similar type of car in terms of age, condition, type, etc. is about $12,000 today.

I believe a lot of this can still be attributed to Cash for Clunkers.

Yeah, it is almost like wage growth has stagnated and the guarantee of a yearly raise and bonus that boomers grew up with dried up after their 40 years in the workforce.

Oh, it’s not by dollar amount, it’s measured by take-home pay. Well the reason is obvious, it’s that Gen Z and Millennials, and to a lesser extend Gen X, get paid absolute garbage compared to Boomers who pulled up the ladder behind them, but still need to buy cars.

I don’t see this as financial illiteracy so much as just that younger people tend to make less money and cars are more expensive now than ever.

tbh, it might not really be a zoomer thing. if you’re young and making shitty money and the average price of a new car is like $40K, then there you go.

I must be lucky, because I use the same old ass gas and my mower starts right up after a handfull of pulls. Then 1 or 2 pulls every mow after that.

Except with tax havens, tax loopholes and credits, it’s most likely half if not entirely money that was syphoned OUT of multiple economies, not being put IN to economies.
