This sounds like when my buddies car was destroyed in a fire at a body shop, they said he had to claim on his policy- which he had cancelled, their contract specified that he had to keep it insured. He took them to court as the fire was due to negligence but it took a few years

One of our Volvos somehow uses the outdoor temp sensor for the heating/cooling system, when I broke the wire for it in the mirror the heat went full on regardless where I set it-
