I was a financial advisor when these funds came out and people just lapped them up- they advertised the percentage they were paying out to people not the actual returns. I reluctantly sold them and regretted it later. Canoe bought the funds and I still get rants from their clients to this day. 

Yeah you can learn a lot from an app or a youtube video but somethings require some human input and feedback. I remember watching some TV show where some guy was going to cut a bunch of trees down after watching some videos online, it did not go well

Yep grew up with this series of Trademan vans, had a similar motorhome to this with the 400- super tight in the engine compartment, it ate alternators due to heat and they were big so you had to dissasemble them, put the pieces roughly into position and then put it together
