okay, I remember in my youth using Alberta temporary permits- the dates on them were the same font as a temporary parking permit that was free, a bit of tape and voila a legit looking permit- as long as nobody checks it too close

So how long are these plates good for and do they still have to have insurance ?

So did they register them as used ? as new ones require the manufacturers certificate, and were the titles not dated ?

Turned out he was also running a chop shop so the complaints about the non permitted business became mute
