There's a big difference between a compliment and harassment. If a man finds a woman attractive and just has to tell her, then he can be respectful about it. Shouting it at her isn't respectful. Using derogatory words isn't respectful. Making gross gestures isn't respectful. Invading her personal space isn't

Then we need to reevaluate how we determine worth.

So, because our government decided to deregulate everything and encouraged companies to send jobs overseas, leaving our ex-manufacturing workers no choice but to take devalued service jobs, those workers should just suck it up and deal? Go back to school and learn a new industry (because that's so fast and affordable

5 hours for dinner?? I'm not sure where you live and how your local restaurants function, but when I waited tables dinner started at 6 (people get out of work at 5-5:30, then head to dinner) and ended by 8. Anything after 8 (unless it was Friday or Saturday) were stragglers. In my experience, unless the establishment

The last time I went to Canada (early 2001) I got over $1.50 CAD for every USD. Halcyon days, my friend.

So true. When I waited tables I had a lovely family as regulars. Parents and two adorable little kids. They were the nicest people, they were really a joy to wait on. They always tipped exactly 12% (not terrible, but not great), but they were so polite and they treated me like a human being, so I wanted to wait on

Yup yup. Those are the same people who claim all service jobs are "supposed to be for teenagers." Apparently an honest day's work only deserves a living wage if it required a masters degree and 10 years of experience.

What about people who really aren't capable of anything more complicated that slapping together burgers? There are people with limited capacities in this world. Do they not deserve to survive?

I get what you were saying, but I think VerucASalt was coming from the possibility angle.

Maybe one of those people would have made some amazing breakthrough 10 years from now?

My local new comes from Detroit and Flint. Womp womp.

It was pretty gross. It seems like there should be some sort of rule against it.

I just took to google and searched "jesus sheets" and all I got was this, which is still pretty amazing:

I remember years and years ago Urban Outfitters sent buyers out to sift through thrift shops and Salvation Army stores and buy up all the "vintage" tshirts. Then they resold them in their stores for $40-$50. I checked them out and they still smelled like thrift store. I don't think they even washed them.

You see someone walking down the street all confident and loving themselves, and they happen to be 350 pounds, do you think the message they are sending to the neighborhood kids is that it's awesome to be fat? No, the message they're sending is that they accept themselves, despite any perceived flaws. Are overweight

Judged how though? As less healthy than a thin person? Ok, that's a judgement on her health. But that's not the only way we judge fat people. Instagram illustrated that beautifully. People didn't report her pictures simply because she was scantily clad, there are plenty of bikini and underwear pictures of thin women

She's not promoting her body, she's promoting the notion of not judging people based on their bodies.

No one who promotes positive body image is promoting poor health. Telling people, "Your self worth is not tied to your body size. You are a good person, no matter how much you weigh." is not saying, "Health be damned, everyone get fat!"

Maybe she's allergic?

"Gnife" made me lol.
