It was deliberate - Samsung doesn’t want you to use Chromecast, Apple TV, Fire TV, etc. sticks with this. It’s part of a broader corporate ecosystem play and they can’t risk people using it with competitor ecosystems. An annoying restraint on choice in order to lock you in.
