As someone originally from the North Island of New Zealand and now living in Colorado a Native Coloradan gave me three excellent pieces of snow driving advice:
If you have an AWD/4WD especially, in a manual or an automatic vehicle, slow down by downshifting gently, and then lifting your foot off the accelerator slowly, aka engine braking - that is, stay off the brakes as much as possible, slow and gentle as above :)
