@pjcard: meh, i completely beleive it was the prettiest and most convenient design. remember, 80% of those designs will be ludicrous and the other 19% will be ugly or too retro-looking, so it leaves you with 18 other competitors to beat.

@diasdiem: did your lamp have 15 years warranty? probably not. i have a friend with a stand similar to this one, and it works like a charm. you put the c-clamp on the back of the desk, tighten it till you hear your fingers try to shatter, and it should stay put.

@Fooly: you need a friend with access to a cnc machine or a rapid prototyping machine if you wanna do anything that looks even remotely professional. i'm sure you can find that easily. oh you could also have fun with stolen lab equipment if you have a researcher friend too.

it's what they call a silent capture. they did the same with the imacs 27 ( i was with them back then). it's usually how they proceed with that stuff when it's not 100% failure. those who have the problem get a new model, those who don't keep the one they have. i find nothing wrong with it, it's not like they need to…
