X-Men: Blue #1 - Not spectacular, but pretty solid. I tend to think the Originals have worn out their welcome, but Bunn seems to do well with writing them, so I'll probably give it an arc to see where it's going.

It's actually pretty good, especially for Land. Nobody looks like a horny mannequin, which is always a good thing.
Hooray for deforestation?
I hope to see Snicket walk out, do a double take when he sees the camera, and say, "Aww, come on! Seriously, why are you idiots still here?"
Warburton really is perfect for this.
That's a wittier rejoinder than anything in most of the Shrek sequels.
It was around the same time when they had Arrested Development, which just barely made it 3 seasons while collecting boatloads of awards the whole time.
That sounds about right. When I came up with 4 off the top of my head, I was lumping together everyone from the Morrison run to the present as one generation, and I forgot to include Generation X. The Originals and the early Claremont period definitely should count as two, though.
Exactly! My first thought was actually Dr. Strange. I want to see Samnee go full Ditko!
I'm completely with you on this. It's a beautiful dream, but sadly I think Astro City is about as close as we'll ever get.
I don't know, but I wish to God that Waid and Samnee would work their way through the whole MArvel universe 12 issues at a time.
I dunno, I definitely wish they would bring in more of the newer generation (Goldballs!!!), but something you said about "the two original generations" * got me thinking that there is no other Marvel book as well suited to talking about generations and legacies and history. And that could tie in really well with a…
There is absolutely no way Marvel would do a whole series that places the Originals in the actual 1960s, but that would be awesome.
As images go, "Giant weird neon totem pole" captures a lot of the book pretty well.
I've been saying that for like 20 years now!
He could be the Kenny McCormick of the MCU!
I agree. I really like that Danny and Colleen relate to each other through the thing they have in common and are both really good at. The nunchaku scene, and especially the part where she impresses him with her katana skills, was one of the few scenes where their relationship made a lot of sense to me.
"I swear on my children's lives! And not just the useless one!"
Heh, good point!
It is actually pretty depressing that one of the best fight scenes of
this show was 10 seconds of grainy newsreel footage of a different Iron
Fist.
