Overcomplicated, busy designs with too many character lines/creases.
I took a photo of a the headlight of a parked Lexus one day that perfectly encapsulated the issue:

That’s fair enough - but I’d disagree with the “should age well” on the model as initially released. The refresh - yes, but the front of the OG one is from the “Beakura” era and it just doesn’t look good.

Honestly I think part of the underwhelming reception of the NSX as released was twofold; first - its styling was merely “meh”, and second, its development had been dripfed in plain sight (with chops/changes to specs along the way) so that by the time it was revealed it was a known quantity - old hat on day 0. Most trims of Mini have a HUD now (I think all but the base?) so I think this is actually a pretty safe bet.

The Mini Cooper being the exception despite having a CUV (of sorts) in their lineup is kinda stunning
