Like every other story about this kind of situation ... and I agree, it’s disheartening for the fact that there is a constant stream of them (and we all know there is an iceberg of volume that we never hear about) ... what I want, in just one of them, is personal consequences for the individuals involved.

The common theory on this seems to be that they’re re-tooling for an upgrade to the S/X lines, either for a design ‘refresh’ that’s been rumored, or for a bigger upgrade like implementing larger single-piece castings to the structure with the new 4680 battery cell-to-structure design. Given how long the downtime is,

Shh, you and your facts. It’s almost like running a production line for only 3 days that probably has hours of bringup time and shutdown time is horribly inefficient. I love it when people who have never worked in a production environment (or logistics) talk out their asses about stuff they clearly don’t have any

Seriously, are we now blaming end of year furloughs on Elon Musk? Manufacturing companies have been doing this forever. The guy can be a douche for sure but this stuff is not that uncommon.

It’s most likely a model refresh and the down-time is being used to modify the production lines. But nahhhhh couldn’t DARE write anything potentially positive about Tesla on this website, nahhhh.

Like furlough days? That's a pretty common tactic to get some of the money off the books. It forces people to take vacation days... It sucks but it's not odd either.

They are getting paid for almost the whole time. This article is just biased.

24-25 Paid holiday
26-27 Weekend

i wonder if there has been really a 15 year old in guiliani’s past

Exactly. “I can’t pick one out right now because they are all deserving of no attention.” Shit, Doctor, it’s not a beauty contest, it’s an ugly contest. How about the one where the lead industries hired scientists to downplay the harm of lead in our gasoline? That was a biggy. Tobacco, anti-vaxxers, and climate-change

What was even the point of the last person lol

Honestly, this whole debate is dumb.

Of the ~140 million people who voted this election that have voted before, they were about split, 49/50, Biden/Trump.

The reason they write stories about Musk is because people read them. He has become a “love to hate,” like Trump, and is consciously using articles like this to his advantage. He probably also needs actual love, but who knows.

Big ups to Stacey Abrams for saving the country.

Between you and me: I’m not going to stop sweating until the nuclear football is handed to Biden.

A couple of points: First, while this article does a great job of describing the current situation on the ground, it doesn’t really make a great argument to support its sensational headline. Why, exactly, won’t LEO internet address the digital divide? No, it’s not 100% as good as a fibre-to-the-home connection, but

I think they can compete by A. existing for purchase and B. costing half.

The base model EV2 is twice the price of a base Cybertruck, and a fully tricked out Cybertruck with Autopilot and triple motors is still cheaper than the base model. I’m sure Tesla will be fine.

So, Tucker Carlson?

Let’s be honest, you’re not reaching out to every automaker that has a customer with wheel alignment issues, has fallen asleep at the wheel, or has defective panoramic roofs. Your reaching out to Tesla because a response from them would be clickworthy for you. Most of your email requests are of the un-slick tone...
