Weird opinion, but I still believe if you put Studio 60's first and second episodes together, altered/extended it a bit, you'd have a pretty good TV-Movie. It's certainly not the best pilot I've ever seen, but it might be the pilot with the most wasted potential.

Each week/fortnight I regularly listen to: Pod Save America, Pod Save the World, Lovett or Leave It, With Friends Like These, 538 Elections, The Weeds, The Ezra Klein Show, I Think You're Interesting, Can He Do That?, The Daily, Slate's Political Gabfest, Slate's Culture Gabfest, Slate's Whistlestop, Trumpcast,

I love I Love Lucy plus my million podcasts. Jon Lovett on the Pod Save America/Lovett or Leave It podcasts doing the advertisements are now the best part of my week.

I picked up the entire series of I Love Lucy and one of Lucille Ball's other series for $60 today, so I'm very happy with myself.

My mum just recommended The Young Pope to me. I am still laughing.

Jake Tapper's response was perfect. I don't have a link right now, but he managed to shred Spicer to pieces, be historically accurate and comprehensive, and have the best closing line all in 2.5 minutes.

I won't be able to watch the series for a bit. However, I do have the book sitting on my bedside table and will hopefully start that sometime today.

My mum gets annoyed there are palm trees on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but I let that pass as at least it's in a state where there are palm trees.

At the AV Club thing I saw in December, Erik Adams spent his time on comedy talking about how much he loves 'Amigos', so rewatching it since then I've noticed many of the things he mentioned - like how in Michael's office, there are bananas on the shelves.

It being two episodes really helps. I should also say that I'm really happy I didn't start watching this before I took a very similar flight in December.

I've watched 6 episodes and I'm enjoying it a lot. They're not overdoing it with the flashbacks and are developing some really interesting dynamics on the island. I stopped watching to finish an assessment, but I'll definitely pick it up again either today or tomorrow.

I keep asking myself 'Is my accent that horrible?' I don't believe it is, I have been mistaken for being British, but the accents are very bogan - Wikipedia tells me this is the US equivalent of 'redneck' - so it's very jarring to hear as not many people speak like that.

I started watching Lost. It is great!

ALEX! It's good to see you around! Glad it sounds like Spain is treating you well!

My parents and I are huge tea drinkers, so we ran into this problem at hotels in the US. There either wasn't a kettle or there was one specifically used for coffee.

I got my mum watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and she texted me when she got to the Vampire Weekend joke.

Veep is great. I've seen up to mid way season 3 and have seen the 5th season which was absolutely hilarious.

Yeah. Funnily enough immediately after I posted that, the articles loaded.

I'm getting that problem with accessing some AV Club articles.

It was one of the few shows I watched regularly last year, seeing as it aired same day as the US, but I got pretty frustrated with it after the conventions. Haven't been able to watch the last episode or the movie, but I assume one day I'll have had a good day and think that I could sit through them. If the show is
