Yeah. Everything fully hit me when I opened up my uni email to find an email from our Vice Chancellor outlining the immigration E.O, affirming the university's opposition to it and offering university support to its academics and students.

Hm, that's true, but I guess I'm concerned with how much damage Trump can do in hopefully only 4 years, and how long it will take to move on from his presidency, and at the very least diversifying our interests might not be the worst option.

I'm not saying we should completely give up on the US, but this gives us room to establish closer links with China, which might have been one of the few good things Rudd did.

Whether he or the Australia Government/major parties hates asylum seekers more would be an interesting debate. Trump would probably win, but it would be an interesting debate seeing as our Democrats are also fairly anti-asylum seekers too.
