Nate Silver talks about how there are 1 in 50 year elections and 1 in 200 year elections that rewrite the electoral maps and redefine political parties. I think he said it was too soon to say whether this is a case of the latter but it's certainly a case of the former.

An electoral college thumping might.

There have been studies that have suggested that left-wing parties do better under compulsory voting. And that's very true about voting disenfranchising. Of course it will never happen while the GOP has as much control over statehouses as it does because everyone voting, at least in my opinion, would force the GOP to

He's there now surrounded by a wall of security men. He also doesn't know who Boris Johnson is, which is funny cause I thought they bonded on terrible hair ages ago.

All I'll say is that it's worked pretty well for us. Yeah, we get some Donkey Votes - it's thing thanks to some lovely wording in our laws that say that we have to mark our ballot papers which wow great thinking there legislative writers! - but all in all, that accounts for around 1% of votes. Everyone comes to some

I remember seeing something from a panel news quiz show in the UK, funnily enough, and I'm pretty sure it was Sean Lock who said that he thought that people over 70 shouldn't be allowed to vote because they wouldn't have to deal with the consequence of many decisions that their vote would be a part of.

What of course is absolutely awful is that the majority of 18-24 year olds voted to remain and they're the ones who are going to have to face the full consequences of this.

The moment I realised how well they fit, I completely lost it.

Oceans rise, empires faaaaaaaaalllllll!

And a probable recession, and the lack of free-trade deals and interest in drawing up specific-UK ones with both the USA and Australia more focused on getting deals with the EU, and both Scotland and Ireland thinking of leaving and their political parties thrown into disarray.

While the rest of the world looked on and said DAMMIT UK!

This is very true. Now that he's resigned I'm kind of hoping for either a Yes Minister situation or after whomever is announced as leader, before he resigns he calls an election and basically goes 'Cameron out' like Obama at the Correspondents Dinner.

And he doesn't have a great incentive to pass it, and I'd bet that there are Conservative and Labor MP's who might have an electoral incentive too.

And we gave up before lunch. Now it's just a matter of seeing how much this will impact Australia and my future plans. Thanks UK!

That was a good podcast.

Besides Sherlock/Agatha Christie's/House of Cards, most of my favourites are comedies too.

I'm not great with many soups, but I love a good tomato soup.

What's your other favourite/second-favourite UK show?

Blackadder is another fantastic one. First time I watch the fourth was when I was at the Somme. Probably have more of an attachment to that series than many of the others, but that's just a great show.

I. Love. That. Soup. So. Much.
