There are shows I’ve liked better than Breaking Bad, but I don’t know that I’ve enjoyed any four episodes of a show more than I enjoyed the last four episodes of Breaking Bad. Granite State is profoundly underrated in terms of its emotional power and importance to Walt’s journey as a character, and Felina is

if it sticks, this would be a pretty major departure from the books.

The Comedian reminded me of the worst Season 04 episodes that were an hour long. The premise was thin and it became a chore to sit through. I really enjoyed the revised Nightmare at 30,000 feet, including the surprise coda which our reviewer disliked. It was thrilling to have a second twist after what we assumed was

AV Club named Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind the best movie of the 2000s!

I’ve been saying for a while that there are no problems with latter-day Simpsons that couldn’t be solved with a better crop of writers. Megan Amram is an exciting choice, as she wrote possibly the two best episodes of The Good Place.

Books three through six are excellent, but book seven was disappointing, mechanically plotted and anti-climactic. Part of it is that she had ditched the boarding-school / whodunnit structure of the first six books, but also the story felt like a soulless and intricate clock with no real surprises in it.

This is the problem: parents shouldn‘t be letting their kids use the internet unsupervised all night, at all. Give them a book and ignore the whining.

everyone should watch Dakota Blue Richards in seasons 03, 04, and 05 of Endeavour on Amazon Prime. She is stunning, and the mysteries, and the rest of the cast, are exceptional.

periodic reminder that everyone needs to watch Inside No. 9, a British anthology series that is the modern successor to the original Twilight Zone. The first two seasons are currently available on Hulu. They are fabulous.

Wait, did the other reviewer get fired? The one who didnt even watch the episode before reviewing it? That’s hilarious.

excited to see this director’s take on Willy Wonka, especially since Donald Glover is angling hard for the titular role.

I love how Malek and other associates are claiming they had never heard these rumors when the A. V. Club commentariat was on the case *years* ago.

all the original episodes are also available on Amazon Prime!

honestly, those are the two best shows currently on air; if you just watched them and spent the rest of your time reading, you wouldn’t be missing too much.

Got really scared for a second there that *Black Panther* was going to take the top spot.

Have you listened much to Neil Hannon’s other band, The Duckworth-Lewis Method? it’s like the Divine Comedy as filtered through ELO and is every bit as good as that description suggests.

Why does Amy Adams keep getting typecast as Lady Macbeth figures? She also played one in The Master.

Glad to see Mitski and Snail Mail on here. Some of my other faves of 2018: The Magic Gang, Rayland Baxter (Strange American Dream is a damn-near perfect song), and Superorganism.

personally, I can’t wait.

honestly the only way this movie could have worked was if they had hired the director of Paddington and gotten Lin-Manuel to do the music.
