I liked The Dark Knight Rises quite a bit better than Return of the King. It’s probably my favorite film adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities.

glad to see Star Wars on the list, and overjoyed to see that Lady Bird placed so high.

Toward the end of the movie it crossed my mind that this could be the last good Star War, but I’m cautiously optimistic since they’ve given Rian Johnson his own trilogy.

I’ll say this: I was impressed by how cleverly it subverted our expectations of what a Star Wars film should be. it might not have given the fans the twists they wanted, or expected, but it gave the story exactly what it needed.

when I got to number 2 and still hadn’t seen The Good Place, I was getting ready to protest!

reading the reviews at Slate and Vox has gotten me so excited for this movie. Sam Adams says, “The Last Jedi has already been hailed as the best Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back, and while that’s true, it’s too faint a compliment. It’s a film of genuine beauty.”

my question is, why does *anyone* still watch this show?

yeah, it looks like “The AV Club: The Movie.”

“Nevertheless, there’s a small part of me that’s perpetually watching my life unfold like it’s a story, and I have to actively fight against it—to remind myself to live in the moment, to stop trying to script its direction, and to accept that there’s not going to be some satisfying third-act resolution to it all.”

T

I’d watch that.

I thought you meant Kirby the pink marshmallow and I’m here for it.

*that’s* what you took from this article?

I think I’ll pass on the HOBBIT trilogy.

I think I’ll pass on the HOBBIT trilogy.

“Wow, you’re very exotic-looking. Was your dad a GI?”

By 2020 Christopher Plummer will be playing everyone in Hollywood.

Filch played an eccentric old man accused of being a pedophile in season 1 of Broadchurch.

so what does that make the album X & Y?

I’d like to have seen Dark City and Interstellar on the list, and Children of Men placed a bit higher.

this is a relief, honestly? I had a feeling Disney was looking for a way to show him the door ever since The Book of Henry came out.

I miss the days when there was only one Joker I didn’t care about.
