Sam's Town was dismissed by a lot of critics and fans who were expecting Hot Fuss 2 - and Brandon claiming it was the best rock album in 20 years didn't help - but it's experienced something of a revival in the last three years or so.

Todd VanDerWerff recently said on Twitter that we need to send out a space probe blasting that song into the far reaches of distant galaxies.

Oh man, is this one of the greatest albums of our time? I wish Brandon and the Killers were still able to make anything on the level of their first two albums.

They remind me of Belle & Sebastian in the sense that both make effortlessly moody morning music.

That moment in the season 6 finale when a dozen bands are onstage with Andy and Duke Silver singing "Bye, Bye L'il Sebastian" while Ben looks on incredulously from the front row may be the high point of the whole show.

I'm just so glad we're moving beyond the point where every animated sitcom feels it has to be the hybrid offspring of Southpark, The Simpsons, and Family Guy. Television animation in this decade has been far more experimental, offbeat, sincere, sad, and funny.
