It's at least as good as Return of the Jedi, which tends to be overrated because of its place in the original trilogy.

I largely agree with you, although it's worth noting that the best-acted scene in the trilogy (Gandalf on the Bridge of Khazad-Dum) was performed in front of a ping-pong ball.
My best binging experience was on MLK Day in 2005 - some friends and I borrowed a private lounge and watched all three extended Lord of the Rings films. Twelve hours, six discs, three movies. Perfection.
After blowing through all of AGENT CARTER last night, I feel like I would much rather marathon a low-stakes Marvel show than be pummeled into submission by endless movie fights.
Agreed with number 14: one of the great joys of Star Wars and Harry Potter is how they gleefully borrow from a whole universe of literary & cinematic influences. And they need more humor: one problem with the Star Wars prequels is that Anakin & Padme acted like they had seen the original trilogy & knew they were…
It's much more compulsively watchable than some of the movies. I loved it!
Bogey and Haley Atwell are the best performers by far.
In the last few days I’ve watched Thor, The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier and
The Caine Mutiny, all for the first time. I spent today binging Agent Carter
and am getting ready to watch the final episode. Started watching the 2008 miniseries of Little Dorrit and began listening to the audio book narrated by Anton…
I swear, if Whedon is ever allowed to make another movie, the villains will all have the names of Marvel execs with the first letters changed.
Yes, he set out to make the anti-Narnia and ended up duplicating some of the worst excesses of the original.
I enjoyed the first two books, but I feel like he got so carried away with his message in the third one that he forgot about telling a good story. The long-awaited battle fails to transpire and everything is resolved via angel and bottomless pit ex machina.
Martin's and the show's view of women can be pretty misogynistic at times, and the over-arching philosophy is one of grim nihilism unleavened by hope or heroism.
Gone with the Wind. His Dark Materials. Game of Thrones.
FINALLY
They just don't make bands like The Killers anymore.
When I was a freshman in college, I used to annoy my roommate by playing that crappy Christian parody band, Apologetix (known for their songs 'Drop of Lucifer' and 'Hotel Can't Afford Ya'). When he left the room, I'd play Beethoven.
I love Chris Pratt, but so far none of his line readings in this movie have induced anything but laughter. That said, if they throw Aubrey Plaza in, I'm THERE.
Aside from Martin Freeman's acting, Lesnie's cinematography might've been the *only* good thing about the Hobbit movies.
Was so sad to hear about this. BABE was gorgeous, and the Lord of the Rings films wouldn't have been nearly as impressive without him.
Is that Dudley Dursley at the top?
