The scene is intentionally framed that way so that the reveal of the money, when it happens, has the same impact as a gun going off.

Maybe so, but I've always preferred wands.

My best friend refused to watch Doctor Who in college because of the people who kept recommending it to us.

The book is compelling, too. I went back to it recently and was impressed by how well the writing holds up, by how strong it is, how vivid and sweeping and theatrical. Mitchell's prose is effortlessly, even compulsively readable.

I remember going to see Cars in 2006 and being so annoyed with my family who slipped out halfway through to catch the latest Fast & Furious movie which was playing next door.

Not to mention that everything from Spiderman to Star Wars to Kingsman to - from the looks of it - the upcoming Tomorrowland uses the same basic Hero's Journey template.

I know I'm supposed to be really excited about the new Avengers movie, but honestly? I just wanna see Tomorrowland.
