"Restoring America's former glory to its current perfection!"

That was a terrific scene. I also loved DeNiro's monologue after he took out all the goons Nolte had hired to beat him up.

I love Taxi Driver, but I also think Shutter Island and Cape Fear are horrifically underrated, so my opinion might not count.

Well, it didn't appear on either this list or The Dissolve's list.

Personally I thought The Dark Knight Rises was a better film than The Avengers.

The Loneliest Planet.

He's coming for you, and he's worse than anybody.

That was the impression I got from reading the synopsis of Force Majeure.

MMMM perfectly nails the disorientation that people suffer when they step out of a cult and back into the real world, the confusion, the fear, the inability to engage socially. The atmosphere of dread and paranoia is perfectly pitched, and Elizabeth Olsen's performance is flawless, devastating.

I wondered that, too. I know the movie has a lot of defenders, and I appreciate the film's cinematography, but the conflict at the heart of the movie felt totally arbitrary and contrived.

Based on the AV Club's previous year-end best lists, my guess for the top 5:

Glad to see Martha Marcy May Marlene and 12 Years a Slave on here. I liked Inception, but I'm not sure Christopher Nolan has made any films this decade that can rival his work in the 2000s.

This is pretty typical of members of sinister organizations. I've heard people who attend the International House of Prayer say they don't see why everyone is raising a fuss about alleged abuses in the ministry, since they never experienced anything shady.

Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, most wonderful human I've ever met.

Seriously, the non-O'Neal newswires are becoming increasingly painful. It would be better if everyone developed their own styles rather than trying to imitate someone else's.

No Hobbit movies on this list, so I'm guessing they'll all be in the top 50, heh heh.

Martha Marcy May Marlene, maybe? Also that movie with the kid, and the archery set… oh, I remember - We Need to Talk About Kevin deserves a spot on the list.

I keep forgetting that The Social Network came out in this decade. I hope it at least makes the top 10.

It would be interesting to compare this list with the one The Dissolve put out a few weeks ago. I agreed with the placement of Her, The Master and Boyhood on that list, but felt that The Tree of Life could've been higher.

So is there any question now that this show has the chops to play in the same leagues with Breaking Bad?
