"There WAS one thing about mankind we loved!"
"There WAS one thing about mankind we loved!"
I remember seeing this in the theater when I was five, and it holds up well. One of the better (and more faithful) Dickens adaptations, though I prefer the Scrooge musical with Alec Guinness.
You must be fun at parties.
With this show, I'm finding that unless you see a corpse, it's safe to assume they're not entirely dead. Though even that rule was circumvented in the case of Freddie Lounds.
I'll say this: I've never had to cover my eyes as much as I did when I was marathoning the first two seasons last week.
Yeah, his subplot was really the only element of the second season that didn't work for me.
Laurence Fishburne is returning?? Good. I was getting worried about him. (I heard the late, lamented Dr. Chilton is returning, too).
Guessing you haven't seen Before Midnight…
Nick Cave is a god among musicians. I love his murder ballads, and his slow rendition of Disco 2000 might be my favorite recording of that song. He sings it with so much despair, it crosses back over the line and becomes funny.
Did anyone see her in Sleeping Beauty? Creepy movie, great performance.
Still anxious to see God Help the Girl, especially if it's anywhere near the level of quality of their music. I love that my favorite band made a movie.
Beautiful, brutal, and compelling. Probably the best new show I've seen since the end of Breaking Bad. Will Durham is the latest in a long line of emotionally tormented heroes, and I couldn't help thinking he would've made an excellent Hobbit. The cinematography is nightmarishly gorgeous, perfectly evoking how it…
I saw The Hobbit. Disappointingly, it wasn't as awful as I'd expected.
Ralph Fiennes' performance was phenomenal, if not that different from the character he played in a Dickens biopic at around the same time. Hawke and Arquette were phenomenal, too.
I'm always surprised when the killer turns out to be Hannibal.
Within You Without You, Mr. Kite, and Love You To are three of my least favorites. I maintain that Sgt. Peppers' would've been perfect if they'd scrubbed those two songs and kept Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane like they originally intended.
I'll forgive them "All You Need is Love" because of what The Prisoner did with it.
"I can say I play only one character." Meaning, "I'm not allowed to talk about the other characters."
lol, Herman Cain
Last I heard, he had changed his answer to Parks and Rec.
