Same reasons for me. Apple hasn’t convinced me I need one. And I don’t buy first generation anything either. Second and third gens are usually huge improvements and lower price tags. The first Macbook Air started at $1,700. Now you can get it for under $1,000. The first iPod was $500. A few years later, you could get

I’m not very knowledgable when it comes to agriculture, but is there a reason so much farming is done in California? Is there a benefit to growing crops there as opposed to any other part of the country?

Smartwatches in general are gimmicky. But if you’re judging them based on what they’re supposed to be, and what they’re supposed to do, crappy isn’t a word I’d use. At least not for any of the major flagships out there.

I have absolutely no interest in buying it, but I fail to see how it’s crappy. It has just about every feature every other smartwatch has, plus some that others don’t. It sounds more like you’re just one of those people who refuse to admit that Apple can actually make a good product. Good reviews =/= Apple ass

I do the same, but iTunes doesn’t always have the movie I want to watch available to rent. Only to buy. And I will not buy a movie that I know I’ll only watch once.

Whatever, dude. I really don’t care what you think. Like I said, wastefulness is subjective, just like art. You have no idea what I need to use, or why. And I’m not going to sit here and justify it to some random internet commenter.

I don’t think the issue is ripping it, so much as it is distributing it.

Yeah, how dare I use things I need to use, in the quantity I need to use them in. Wasting them would be balling them up and throwing them at my coworkers for amusement.

Apple said it’s 3 months.

Same. Certain movies need a giant screen and surround sound. I’ll gladly pay theater prices for those. The others, I’d rather just pay $3 to rent them when they come out.

Apple is planning on releasing a cable-free TV service with their next Apple TV. I would say that puts them pretty far ahead. The only other ones doing that are Sling TV and (I think) Playstation.

Why do things have to be used in their original purpose for them to not be wasted? When I write on a post-it note, it lasts maybe 2-3 days before it gets tossed in the trash. At work, I go through a hundred post-its each month. These will be up at least 3-4 months before they start falling off, or longer. They said

I don’t doubt that Apple is testing 8K displays in their labs, but I seriously doubt they’ll be releasing one this year. They just simply aren’t viable right now. Can we please just focus on making 4k the standard first before figuring out how to cram even more pixels in there?

“Wasteful” is subjective too. Just because they aren’t writing on them does’t mean they’re wasted. They were put to use in a way that allowed people to enjoy them.

“I don’t need a giant phone”

I feel like the gold Apple watch is a clever marketing ploy for the cheaper Apple watches. Celebrities will buy it. People will see celebrities wearing it. People will want an Apple watch. It’s a basic formula that has been in the fashion industry for decades. Some fashion company makes an extremely expensive

Exactly the way Android OEMs do it now - load their own browsers on the device. This was in the early days of the PC and the idea of dozens of manufacturers shipping the exact same software from the exact same company was seen anti-competitive. It wasn’t just IE, it was Windows in general. It’s why Microsoft invested

The reason the Microsoft case was anti-competitive was because at the time, Microsoft, and Internet Explorer, had virtually no competitors. Netscape was the only other big name and it’s marketshare plummeted after Microsoft started bundling IE. It wasn’t just the fact that IE was bundled. It was the effects of the

Microsoft then, as well as Google does now, both have a MUCH higher marketshare than Apple ever had. What you described Apple doing isn’t anti-competitive behavior. What they did with the ebooks case was anti-competitive, and they were rightfully sued over it. And if Apple is trying to lure artists away from other

Uh, no. The EU is actually investigating Apple as well.
