As an example: IIRC I can get a Florida permit, by mail, and I’ve stepped foot in FL probably 4 times in my life

Again, YMMV; simply relaying my own experiences. I’d also say that conflating the two does more harm than good in getting meaningful gun control implemented
YMMV but a gun nut, IMO, would be just as you describe: basically a person who’s personality, hobbies, political opinions, etc. center around guns and nothing else (or guns are primary in those areas). Simply owning a gun doesn’t even come close to that level
Point of order: There’s a massive gulf between “gun owner” and “gun nut”
And it would be a lot more common for sex workers to report suspected trafficking if they weren’t afraid of being arrested themselves by going to the authorities
Per George Carlin: “Selling is legal, fucking is legal. Why isn’t selling fucking legal?!”
“offers national reciprocity concealed carry”
I’m with you, except for the single action. Semi-auto handguns sure, get rid of them, but I like my DA revolver
Damn...that’s harsh
Plus the fact that, IIRC, there was an armed security guard there anyway
I almost hurt myself laughing at that when it showed up the day after the massive dunking on she received
I fucking hate the “mental health” argument because, exactly what in the fuck are the right-wingers who screech about that being the issue doing about said mental health issues? Other than...*checks notes*...nothing
That was my first thought exactly on seeing the headline and commented the same thing
Dear gun nuts:
Pretty accurate for Aurora (I say as a not-quite-middle-aged divorced dad)
I’m sure you can imagine the screeching they did about the sex-ed bill too. As far as I can tell it was pretty much just because the bill said sex-ed has to acknowledge LGBT people exist
Also live in Denver (ok, fine, Aurora) and it’s hilarious listening to the right-wingers on AM radio freak out every day about any policy even slightly to the left of fucking Reagan
“You’d think these people were cheering for the Pats, they’re so goddamn entitled”
That’s why I’d take both this and the linked piece with a bunch of salt. All it says is that more people are registering as Repubs than Dems but doesn’t say anything about total registration numbers
Seriously. I don’t get why people try to push that bullshit because, in this reality, that’s not how shit works. Some of it, maybe, would filter down but not even close to all of it
