Let me rephrase: Why does it matter? If they take the time to build a more solid foundation on which to base articles of impeachment, what difference does it make that they “shut down discussions” months before?

What difference does it make if they reverse course later, other than optics?

How is waiting for a better foundation on which to build a possible impeachment case “rolling over”?

Maybe it’s just me but I fail to see a problem here. Sure, inequality is a major issue, but if insufficiency was’t also a problem the majority of people wouldn’t give half a shit

Oh, it’s not just Libby; it’s a good portion of the commentariat too. I just read through the thread on the “Juiciest Bits” piece and a baffling number of comments say, basically, “just do it anyway, who cares if it works or not?!” We should care because it would backfire spectacularly
