Every now and then if an author is careful they can write believably from the perspective of a different sex/sexuality, but the mistakes work both ways. Tami Hoag gets male characters right if she doesn’t dig too deep, but Patricia Cornwell has written men so cartoonish it could really only be intentionally insulting.
