I’m going to just repost what I said yesterday over on Gawker’s article. I’ve highlighted the part that any anti-vaxxer reading this should pay close attention to.

Three funny stories:
Go take your crazy anti-vax somewhere else. Actually, don’t. Because when you refuse to vaccinate your children you are putting the entire population at risk. Guess what, crazy anti-vax person, YOU are the reason measles and other deadly diseases are making a comeback. YOU are the reason people will die, because you…
The answer to your questions are:
Cosmic sturgeonery?
I’m taking a medical aesthetics course and my teacher (who has no actual science degree) is an anti-vaxxer (not to mention, she think that when you die, the body leaves a sweet smell to let your family members know they’re in a good place or some fucking shit.)
I work for a center for homeless teens, and one of the things we provide is a free health clinic a few hours a week for clients. The woman who runs the clinic is this amazing hippie in her 70s who was an army nurse during the Vietnam war, later did Doctors without Borders, and has been providing health care for people…
Would De Niro advocate for the inclusion of a film that “debunks” climate change science, all while claiming that he just wants to create an opportunity for discussion around the topic? Penny Lane’s statement is spot-on, and allowing insane anti-science beliefs to be presented as credible positions can be downright…
This makes me downright stabby. I have a 7 year old with autism. He is brilliant, vibrant, funny, and the sweetest person I know. I don’t give a damn why he has autism. He wouldn’t be the same person without it, and I wouldn’t change him if I could.
There doesn’t need to be two sides to this conversation. Opening a discussion about vaccines would require that both sides have value. There is no value on the anti-vaccination side. There is only danger and lies. Jesus Christ, this has been discussed to death well past its expiration date. Shame on Mr. DeNiro. This…
Warning should be stronger than that. It should be that every reuptable medical organization agrees that there is no proven link between vaccines and autism. However, the decline in vaccinations due to anti-vax fears has lead to increases in the incidence of deadly childhood diseases and fatalities.
I support this so long as a film that discusses the merits and reasons for putting anti-vaxxers together on a remote island, where they can kept safely away from the rest of humanity, be shown immediately afterwards.
Well, okay, if we have to have this conversation...everyone, get your facts in order. Crush them. Destroy them. Make them cry in front of their children as you obliterate the notion in the minds of all who surround you that this antivaxxer is in any way capable of intelligent thought. Smash their stupidity beneath…
DeNiro was 55 when his son Elliot was born.
I would like to a list of actors/actresses who endorsed/watched this movie so they can be publicly shamed. Their livelihood is based on their popularity. Knowing that this could affect their wallets, maybe, that would get them to wake up to this dangerous fad.
Would he screen a Holocaust denial film in order to allow for “conversation”?
The conversation, as it stands right now, is that CHILDREN ARE FUCKING DYING OF EASILY PREVENTABLE DISEASES AND VACCINES DO NOT CAUSE AUTISM YOU FUCKING IGNORANT FLAMING COCKGERBIL
Yeah, I love how people keep saying “we need to have the discussion” as if to imply there’s been silence and suppression of ideas up to this point. No! The discussion has been had. It was determined to be total bullshit. Move on!
