Hyundai Equus. Very competent cars at a massive discount. It failed so bad, Hyundai started afresh under a new name. Huge success in South Korea though.

Can you be a Jalop by answering "no"? I like original cars, but I've had a lot of beaters. Took me three attempts at three cars to really learn that I should not paint large panels myself. Yes, I can fix small issues. No, I cannot paint a hood/a fender/a roof without making it look like I live on welfare and just

I don't want to be a naysayer, but Cadillac remains firmly outside of my automotive world. For decades, their sharp edge look hasn't worked for me. Some elements are ok, and the Lyric is overally just another meh crossover. But WTF is going on with the rear? It's a total mess and impractical, too, with the raking

Funny this is coming to the US only now? A friend of mine bought one when they came out here in Norway, almost two years ago, I believe. The range didn’t work for them, especially since they bought it in winter, losing a fair bit of the available numbers.

That argument would have some merit if leisure trading volume was significant (it’s not) or if trading and stock bubbles were a recent phenomenon (they’re not). That’s just how trade psychology works, from 17th century tulips to Tesla stock.

All hail the Previa!

Isn't the best Jeep bargain to wave goodbye to it, and hold on tight to the case of beer you got in return?

My kids used to say that our vtec Honda Stream "sounds like a motorcycle". D'oh, redlining between kindergarten and school, because it was safe and fun. Minivans are also motored appliances with great potential for fun...and might be your only car in a certain phase of life.

Where do all the people stating "I hate driving" come from? Is this NODRIVNIK.COM?

Everything proper slow. We bought a 2015 Hyundai i20 with all of 82 hp as a backup, because our more prestigious cars...eh...desire care. Found out that if you just don’t brake, preserve momentum, the small Hyundai is hilarious. The servo steering in particular is precise and stout. Going around serpentines with tires

I love cars like the Toyota Century or first generation Equus - and they’re popular “stanced”. People call it “VIP look”, yet, here I think it’s like asking the queen to twerk. Yes, everybody wants to see it, but it’s outrageous, completely spoils the original intent, and it can’t possible be good.

I have never, ever, not once used an automated car wash. Couldn’t even get myself to do that with a beater. It's like throwing gravel at a painting - it could go well, but you'd be stupid to be surprised by damage.

That poor woman standing there forever...Remember the good old days when people had hands and doors had openers?

Hello from Western Norway with 200+ days of precipitation per year. E39 reconfirmed on the list of cars not to buy.

+1 because, simply, *yes*, you are right.

Isn’t that just Kinja? I get a notification that someone replied to me, click on it, than the discussion opens...and I can’t find my own post that is being replied to. Neither the answer to that, that I forking clicked on. Kinja is legendarily dysfunctional. Click the help and it will 404 you.

Excellent summary, that really should have been part of the article.

Two sentences on *what* FCA agreed to be guilty of, instead of just a link, would have lifted this article tremendously.

They're great cars, but the first few batches had quality issues, which may have been offputting. And the name...I don't really think it helps the "look what I got for myself"-factor at all.

My 2015 Hyundai i20 1.2 (82hp) can realistically do 900 km on one tank of fuel, too. There are a lot of efficient cars in this class. The 1990 Citroën AX diesel with skirts could do 100 kms on 3 litres of fuel. All you have to do is not build a spaceship sized truck running on testosterone.
