Honestly, has life become so boring, that people sit at home and watch other people's court proceedings? I always wonder who has time for that.

My inner economist loves this comment.
The Evalia/NV200 was the only EV competition until recently. Chinese competition is starting to pop up here in Europe. But, generally, van fauna has been reduced a lot. They are competing with Volkswagen, Ford and Citroën, basically.
“The tax credit is there because the market was deciding and the market’s decision posed an existential threat to the world.”
That is insight as deep as the ark of paper on my desk.
What is the kW/h fuel consumption of these?
...and he drives a newish Jeep. More sympathy would have been available for a 25 yo, patinaed Corolla.
I had the chance of publishing my experience buying a 2012 Leaf in 2019, last year:
I have a 2012 Leaf for daily driving, with a range of ~60 miles, and in the last two years, I used fast charging a handful times. For everyday driving, this doesn't really matter. The charger at home is more important, but even here, we just use the super slow 8A charger.
Oh, wow. I had the misfortune of growing up in Germany and arschenlichtendingenschlagenvorten is now my favourite word.
It’s interesting how France is positioning itself as a source of cheap transportation. The Dacia Spring was to be Europe’s cheapest full car EV with ca 50 hp (!) and a small battery, sufficient for 225 kms. Plans were to make it in China, but French unions protested, afraid that EV expertise would be outsourced while…
I will not thank you for that mental image.
I grew up in cars like this. Seeing the first vehicle showing me rpms, my mind was blown, too, just from the other direction. It's very easy to shift gears based on audio and arse feedback (AaAF) alone. Takes a five minute drive to figure that out.
He saved them from being wrecked there and then. Now, somebody might have a chance to scavenge rare parts, or do as some wildly weird Jalopnik writer would do, and start restoring from a very poor beginning.
I love the colours. But, honestly, I'd rather have this done with a good car, like a Century.
As long as Toyota can afford a dozen Supras, to be sold for a gazillionschmillion at bringatrailer.com in ten years, I'm fine with that.
“Of course, I’m too cheap of a bastard to even consider that, so I have other plans in mind.”
Exactly! I lost count on how often this kind of interaction has happened to me. I feel sorry for the employees, trained to be snakes.
Yeah, I remember when options packages were new in Europe, from the 90s onwards. A revolution! And car papers wondered why sun roofs would be bundled with ACs...
Yeah, 10-18 years was the non-bribed waiting time. People also traded spots in line for favours - as money wasn’t worth much in a shortage economy. You need plywood? A plumber? A bigger, municipally allocated apartment? Show me what you have to trade!
