How can you have a topic like that without displaying an actual map? This is shoddy.

Never heard of either. Is the oil filter market still very regional; American brands in America, European in Europe etc.? I always use Mahle, which is the default choice for quality, yet not overly expensice filters in my neck of the woods.
It’s definitely going to differ from country to country. The average new car without tax incentives is priced twice as high in Norway as in Germany, for example. With no real low pay jobs in Scandinavia, the concierge service will add eyewatering levels of expenses here in the North.
Yet, DS is utter crap. Really boring to drive, free of gizmos, windows that cannot be opened (not a joke) and generally totally uninspired. Supposed to be a better Citroën, but they botched it, hard.
This is wonderful. A shame that todays GAZelles are tomorrows iron oxide leftovers...
The one and only time I was vacationing in North America, I rented a car of the “full size” category, indulging in what I thought would be an All-American speciality. I got a Ford Five Hundred. Figured the Volvo underpinnings would be a little relief on the disappointment, but they killed everything under there. This…
Electric cars of the time had a home made look and disastrous specs even from established manufacturers:
I have been recommending this generation wagon to a carless, non-car-interested, properly cheap friend for years. He is still carless, but I’m somewhat certain that if one of these specimen pass rust inspection, he’ll buy it.
The airbag on my Honda was fixed/replaced upon recall in May 2012. I’m in Norway, and from here, the whole spectacle in the US doesn’t seem right. How come this isn’t all fixed more than five years after my car was called in?
I’m a continent away and I knew exactly which state this was in...feeling like Florida should find a way to capitalize on widespread stupidity.
All I see is BMW trying to one-up Volvo. About 32 years late.
Does the afterlife exist?
I’d like to see the corporate decision making process of the new animation team if this is a natural choice of first animated film.
Oh, this is gorgeous. I’m a huge fan of these, and any other high quality replica. I only recently learned that Alvis is still making cars, too, and what cars:
That is one interesting article! I have used Castrol Magnatec for years, which costs me 60$ per 4 litres in Norway. Never mind we produce oil ourselves, prices here are ridiculous. I could have saved 66% by going for the local hardware store (Biltema) oil, which I used to use on my ancient Volvos.
I’d wager its meh-ness keeps it under the radar even with identifiable text on the rear windows etc.
I’m a sucker for Korean baroque. I’m also a genuinely cheap guy, and have come to accept that over the years. So one day I was willing to pull the trigger on one of these when I went on vacation to Germany, which had a decent selection of these at the time in the 600-1200€ range. Of 15 cars I looked at online, one…
What a very thoughtful piece! When it comes to Volvo’s desires as to how to position themselves, I think there’s one argument totally overlooked here: The wagon company, soccer mom car, family value brand. In Europe, the S40 was presented before the V40, and it was Volvo’s first highly explicit effort in trying to get…
- “Fina lap, huh?”
- “Fina lap!!!”
“Volvo’s also remained committed to the massive, vertical taillights they’ve used since the 700 series”
