There is still some good stuff in Cerebus after it becomes a jumbled mess of misogyny, Cerebus and Cirins fight was really good and the ending was pretty poignant (and was promplty ruined by the shitty epilogue) its just buried underneath heaps of awfulness.

From the reviews I've read, you basically have it, this show is messy but has enough there and flashes of real brilliance to stick with.

So what do people think of Kings Batman run so far ? I've mentioned below but I've been feeling really underwhelmed by the whole thing so far Gotham and Gotham Girl are barely characters so any attempt to draw pathos out of their arcs falls flat. Its really disappointing form an author who has done so much better

nothing memorable this week, read Kings new Batman issue though I'm considering dropping it, its a very meh series from a writer I adore.

Chaos Walking is more of a post apocalyptic Western than a straight dystopian novel though and is pretty good btw.

Marvels still got a stable of good to great writers, they just need to keep Bendis away from events. I don't really trust DC to keep up the momentum tbh.

Idk, Pak had a good run that tried to do something different but the American Alien miniseries was a much more interesting take on the character showing what makes Superman interesting and likeable whilst inspiring the same feeling of wonder that the best Supes stories have you should check it out if you haven't read…

American Alien was the best take on Superman in a long while though and Chronicle was good, American Ultra was also decent. Landis has written duds Me Him Her was garbage and so was Mr Right. But his original Frankenstein script was good before it got cut to shreds.

His Superman run is one of the best takes on the character in recent history and he wrote Chronicle which I quite liked.

OTOH Trump hasn't received the convention bump everyone was expecting and the people who watched Trumps speech were going to vote for him anyway

I mean according to polls Trump has had little to no Convention bump which is pretty bad.

IDK the shitshow of this convention and the fact that a lot of people in the media were disturbed by its implications might just offset any convention boost Trump would've gotten. He also shit the bed by going full crazy in his press conference today.
