I hope this translates ok over the internet, but this picture and other pictures I've seen of them pre-Duck Dynasty, kind of explains the wives' appearance. Not that southern ladies can't be high maintenance but every time I see pictures of the ladies, I mistake them for the RH franchise.

Yes thank you! I just made a similar comment in the greys without pictorial proof. Their redneckism is a marketing ploy. This is why I was somewhat surprised. This is not a family of rednecks. This is an affluent, educated family who happens to be in an industry that appeals to rednecks. I thought they were better

Here's another.

Duck Dynasty is a Faaaake!
Before the show started they were all a bunch of preppies, their red-neckedness is all an act.

See as a southerner (also from Louisiana) I am a bit insulted by all the "they're rednecks what did you expect?!" stuff. The thing is to me is I don't think they really are rednecks. I've read enough to know they are almost all college educated (which sets them apart from most of the south) and that they took on the

Yeah, I keep hearing rumors about this whole "redneck" thing being played up for the show, I would love to see more pics/links if anyone has any.

Keep in mind that this is the Duck Dynasty family about twelve years ago. There is some major Larry the Cable Guy / George W. Bush faux redneckism going on here.

I'm just going to leave this before picture here. Obviously they are true to themselves.

Does anyone else find her unbearably obnoxious? And not a particularly great actress? Anyone?

I was really into Sharon until she got on the lazy man's activism train of anti-bullying "you're beautiful just the way you are" - only to get veneers and lip injections the second she won RPDR.

Same here, which is why I SMH whenever someone says that she should be celebrated for working her ass off to get where she is - as if she came by it honestly...

Precisely.

I think it's so odd that this is such a fierce debate. I mean to frame her message and her fame and her ways of achieving it in feminism, not b/c she uses her body and a lot of fake hair but yes, people overlook how she trampled over other BLACK women to get there.

I'm sure that Letoya and Latavia would disagree about this chick being any kind of feminist / womanist role model, no matter how hard Jezebel has been trying hard to make up for their history of tone-deaf regard to Black women with their futile attempt to make her one.

Feminism should try to crush publications like vogue, instead of obsessing over the models on the cover

A regular typical Black woman here and honestly- I really dislike Beyonce's music. And Hillary, you keep writing about her WTF?! This is article no.3. Some of us will never like her. No shade. HARD TRUTH. Now MOVE ON!

"Lol"
-The White Man while counting his money

Your apartment has six fucking rooms?!

Unless you want to have sex with a gay man asking him if he is a top or a bottom or speculating either way is pretty fucking offensive.

I just hate that the conversation is always "Blacks are homophobic", full stop. As if white people are so open-armed to gay issues, and all Black people have this ignorant, hive mind.
